I would give this humidifier a 5 except i find it a bit noisy compared to the old Vicks/Honeywell Humidifier I upgraded from. Dont make the mistake I did of forgetting to put the top of spongebobs head back on. Youll wind up with a puddle of water all around.

Plus: No salt needed to start, no worry about salt residue on your walls, furniture etc over time. Plenty of vapor, different settings for output.

Cons: Nightlight isnt very strong at all-although that doesnt really matter to me, it may to you. Its more of a soft glow, but the light doesnt reach much farther than the appliance so if youre a parent who needs to check in on their child, make sure your floors are clear!

I have the frog one at the office and works great also. I prefer the frog just because the tank is clear.
So cute, and functional too!

I got this humidifier for my office, which is very dry. He (my office mate and I have named him Albert) sits on the side of my desk and steams away quietly (a couple soft gurgling sounds every now and then) and looks pretty darn cute. On the setting I have him on, he can go for several days of being on all day without needing a refill -- the users manual is nice and clear about what setting is appropriate for your particular environment. Lots of co-workers have come by and cooed over him and then said they were going to get one or something similar for themselves.

The only things that I wish were different: 1) youre supposed to put him on a surface a couple feet off the ground, which pretty much meant my desk in my situation, and thats valuable space for my clutter 2) the steam comes out of slits on the eye part, and I wish it came out of his nose like a real dragon! But otherwise Id highly recommend this humidifier.

This cool mist humidifier works perfectly well. I use filtered water, in an attempt to reduce sediment, and I have never had problems. In the Thomas the Tank Engine version, at least, you can turn the top of the engines smokestack to aim the mist Ive pointed mine toward the middle of the room and away from any nearby objects. I have never had trouble with water drops forming on anything I simply keep it a few feet off the ground and aimed into the center of the room.

One of the great little twists to the Thomas the Tank Engine version is that the mist rises from Thomas smokestack. Its a cool mist and very visible, making for a nice effect.

If I must find a negative, it is in the thickness of the plastic. The water tank feels like it might fall apart at any moment. In months of use, I have never had a problem, though. The handle remains intact and stable, the walls remains straight and solid. It feels cheap, but it seems to hold up just fine. I make a point, however, of keeping my child from playing with it. I dont think it would survive "interaction".

Cute and functional. Very quiet. No filter is a huge plus. Easy to fill and adjustable flow is a plus.
